Professor Victor Ferrito BSc; MSc(RUM); PhD(Wales); CSci; FRSH; FIFST is Director of Studies of the Environmental Health Division within the Institute of Health Care at the University of Malta. He is also a Director of the Marsovin Group and Assure Food and Water Safety Consulting.

He studied at the Lyceum Hamrun, the University of Malta and Swansea University College South Wales. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1964 and his Masters degree in Chemistry in 1966. In 1969 he received his doctorate from the University of Wales for his thesis "Chemical Studies relating to Metabolites of Aspergillus rugolosus".

In 1964 he joined the Chemistry Department, University of Malta as Demonstrator in Chemistry and Physics. On obtaining his doctorate in 1969, he was appointed Lecturer in Chemistry. In 1974 he assumed the leadership of the Department of Chemistry as Acting Head of Department. After two years, 1976, he was appointed Head of Department and Dean of the Faculty of Science.

In 1978 he joined Dowty Malta Ltd as Technical Manager responsible for Research and Development, quality assurance and customer technical service.

Between 1983and 1986 he acted as Head of Pharmacy responsible for the B.Pharm and the B.Pharm Tech. Degree courses.

Between 1986 and 1993 as Technical Director Marsovin Group he headed the Production, Research and Development and Quality Assurance sections of the Technical Department.

In 1993 Professor Ferrito was appointed Director of Studies of the Environmental Health Division of the Institute of Health Care University of Malta, a position he still occupies today. He is responsible for such courses as the Env. Health Diploma; the BSc in Env. Health. the Post Qualification Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and the MSc in Env.Health.
